Kim McKay AO, was appointed Director & CEO of the Australian Museum (AM) in April 2014. Kim’s international career in social innovation, marketing, communications and management spans over 30 years. Previously, Kim ran her own consulting business, Momentum2 in Sydney, working for clients including Qantas and Harpo Productions. In the early 2000’s she was Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications for National Geographic Channels International (USA) and worked as a consultant for National Geographic for 10 years. Prior to that in the early 1990’s she co-founded Clean Up Australia and Clean Up the World. Kim currently serves on the boards of Sydney Institute of Marine Science Foundation; Fair Trade Australia & NZ; Macquarie Graduate School of Management Advisory Board; UTS Business Advisory Board; UNSW Science Advisory Panel; the AM Foundation; and Lizard Island Reef Research Foundation. She was recently appointed Adjunct Professor at Macquarie Graduate School of Management. The author of five books on the environment, Kim was made an officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2008 for services to the environment and the community.
Kim took part to the round table “Women in Charge: Women Who Change” during Communicating the Museum 2014 in Sydney.
Kim presented “Closing the deal” at the Fundraising Day during the CTM16 Berlin conference.
